The flagship of the Bengtsson family’s private hotel chain in Stockholm’s Old Town (which also includes the Nelson and the Lady Hamilton), the Victory Hotel is named after the English naval hero Lord Nelson’s flagship, the HMS Victory. No one can step inside this beautifully kept townhouse without noticing its fantastic collection of nautical antiques. Wherever you go, you are surrounded by intriguing pictures, models, figureheads and dolls, each with its own story to tell. The lobby is small and homely with friendly, attentive staff. There is a small seating area with antique style furnishings next to the reception desk and a glass lift. In order to further highlight the nautical atmosphere, each guest room is adorned with a portrait of a famous sea captain and, in the double rooms, a portrait of his wife. In addition, each guest room features an antique portrait of the captain’s ship for guests to admire. This nautical theme aside, each room has a unique design, some beautifully decorated with traditional schemes and antiques, others with a more contemporary feel. All are very well appointed with the amenities expected from a top class hotel. The Leijontornet (Lion Tower) restaurant is located on the ground floor and basement of The Victory. This landmark restaurant, well renowned for its exquisite cuisine, serves an eclectic menu featuring Swedish specialities.
