The waterfront Grand Hôtel Stockholm is Scandinavia's leading hotel and a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. It opened for the first time in 1874 and the building is representative of the splendour of the late 19-century. The spacious lobby features high ceilings, elegant antique furniture and works of art on the walls.
The hotel has 300 guest rooms, including 21 suites. They vary in shape and size but most are spacious and all are uniquely decorated. Many of the rooms and all the suites have a view over the harbor, Old Town and Royal Palace. The hotel boasts two restaurants. One - "Franska Matsslen" - serves serves French cuisine and is of a very high standard, both in regard to the food and the ambience. The other - "Verandan" - serves an excellent Swedish smorgasbord. It has a stunning view overlooking the harbour and a more businesslike atmosphere. Bowls of raspberry jellies are also liberally distributed around the hotel and it's difficult to stop snacking from them once you've started.
